What we do
While You Were Out publishes two short news briefings every day:
- 🌙 6:00 AM Central covers what happened while you were asleep.
- 💼 5:00 PM Central covers what happened while you were at work.
Each briefing covers the most important stories in about a minute. It's posted as a short video on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and as a full written briefing here, with a link to every source.

How it's made
While You Were Out is an independent publication. We use AI tools to help research, write, narrate and produce each edition. The narration is an AI-generated voice, and videos are labeled as AI-generated on every platform. Every story is still held to the sourcing rules above: at least two independent, established outlets, with the full source list published.
