Trending today: Shane Gillis, Other Mommy and Lamar Jackson
Shane Gillis's accidental F-bomb on live SNL, Jessica Chastain's horror film Other Mommy tops the box office as The Social Reckoning opens fifth, and the Ravens' latest update on Lamar Jackson's ankle.
Hosting Saturday Night Live for the third time, Shane Gillis accidentally said an expletive during a live Dr. Seuss-inspired "Green Eggs & Ham" sketch. He covered his mouth, the audience laughed, and at the end of the show he said, "sorry about earlier." The word aired on the East Coast live broadcast but was removed from the clip posted on SNL's social media. Rosalía was the musical guest.
Universal's horror film Other Mommy, starring Jessica Chastain, opened at No. 1 with an estimated $27.5 million in North America despite a D+ CinemaScore; it cost around $19 million to make. Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning, the follow-up to The Social Network, opened fifth with $5.5 million; it cost around $30 million.
Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Lamar Jackson is "definitely doing better" with his sprained left ankle, but wasn't sure how Wednesday's practice would look and said the team will know more by the middle of the week. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports there is "some hope" Jackson plays Sunday at Cleveland. Backup Tyler Huntley ran in the game-winning touchdown in overtime as Baltimore beat Atlanta on Sunday night.
