Minnesota Midday: Eden Prairie shooting charges, Wild beat Vegas and a cooler week ahead
Riot charges after the Eden Prairie homecoming shooting, the Wild's 4-2 win over Vegas, and cooler fall weather with Thursday rain and the first frost chance.
A teenager charged with assault and riot in the Oct. 2 shooting outside Eden Prairie High School's homecoming game made his first appearance in Hennepin County court Monday and was released on bond, with orders to stay three blocks from the school. Two people were hurt. Four men ages 18 to 20 are charged by warrant with third-degree riot. Charges are allegations.
The Minnesota Wild beat the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 Monday night in St. Paul. Max Shabanov scored on the power play, Matt Boldy and Danila Yurov also scored, and Joel Eriksson Ek added an empty-netter. Jesper Wallstedt has started all six games. The Wild play at Winnipeg tonight.
After summer-like warmth, Minnesota cools to highs in the 50s and low 60s Tuesday. Thursday brings the week's main chance of rain, and Friday night into Saturday morning is the first frost chance for the Twin Cities metro. Northern Minnesota lows dip into the 30s.
