Summit Brewing avoids foreclosure as a new lender takes over its loansconfirmed

St. Paul's Summit Brewing Company reached an agreement that ends BMO Bank's role as its lender; its outstanding loans were acquired by a new lender the company did not name. BMO had sued to foreclose last month, and Summit owed about $8.2 million. The brewery says its taproom and day-to-day operations continue as usual and it expects no change in supply. Deal terms are still being finalized, and the new lender is working with Summit on a recapitalization and growth plan.

State finds probable cause two businesses refused valid Tribal IDsconfirmed

The Minnesota Department of Human Rights says it found probable cause of discrimination in two cases. It says Wings Financial Credit Union in Coon Rapids repeatedly denied a customer full access to her account and required extra documentation after she showed a valid Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribal ID, and that The Office Pub and Grill in Minneapolis refused a customer's Red Lake Nation ID to prove his age three times. No fines or orders are reported; the department says it will work with the businesses toward structural change. Under state law a Tribal ID is acceptable wherever a Minnesota ID is.
