More than 40 local, state and federal law enforcement agencies have agreed to an outline for responding to recent gang-related violence in the Twin Cities area, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. It relies heavily on existing resources and new collaboration. A news conference was set for 1 p.m. Monday in Blaine. The effort follows recent shootings in Bloomington and outside the Eden Prairie High School homecoming game on Oct. 2. Specific measures and funding had not been announced when the stories were published.
Minnesota's forecast calls for sunshine Monday, with highs from the low 50s in the north to the mid-60s in the south and about 66 in the Twin Cities, according to FOX 9. Highs near 70 arrive Tuesday, and 70s are expected Wednesday and Thursday. CBS Minnesota says the next chance of rain is Saturday, with light amounts.
The Stevens County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a call last week about a large metallic object, about 11 feet in diameter, in a cornfield in Scott Township. Deputies described it as presumably a space object. State and federal officials are working to identify it, find its owner and arrange its removal. Authorities say it poses no danger to the public, and no injuries or damage were reported.
