Trending today: Serena Williams, the Brewers parade and Samsung News
Serena Williams debuts icy silver-blonde hair at the Airbnb.org Gala, thousands of fans celebrate the Milwaukee Brewers' first World Series title at a downtown parade, and Samsung says its built-in Samsung News service on Galaxy devices will shut down December 21.
Serena Williams swapped her usual honey-blonde for an icy, frosty silver shade at the Airbnb.org Gala in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 28. She wore the hair in long waves with a deep side part and a hand-beaded animal-print gown by Clio Peppiatt. Fans praised the look in her comments. She first wore platinum waves at a 2024 Paris Olympics party.
Thousands of fans lined downtown Milwaukee on Friday for a parade celebrating the Brewers' first World Series title, won Wednesday with a 4-1 Game 5 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. Players walked part of the route high-fiving fans and stopped for a photo with the trophy in front of a mural honoring Bob Uecker. The rally ended with Daniel Vogelbach singing karaoke, after Robin Yount rode onstage on Uecker's Harley-Davidson. Officials had expected about 400,000 people; Milwaukee Public Schools canceled classes.
Samsung says Samsung News, the news feed built into Galaxy phones and tablets, including its home-screen panel and widget, will shut down on December 21, 2026. User data such as profiles and reading preferences will be deleted, except where local laws require it to be kept for a time. The notice first appeared in India and South Korea; other markets have not been confirmed, and Samsung did not give a reason.
