Bernard Tomic plays his first Masters 1000 event in seven years

Australia's Bernard Tomic, who fell to world No. 825 four years ago and is now ranked No. 186, played his first ATP Masters 1000 event in seven years at the Shanghai Masters. He lost to Italy's Matteo Arnaldi 6-3, 6-1 in the first round on Thursday. Tomic has said 2026 will likely be his last year on tour.
