Minneapolis council falls short of overriding Frey's robotaxi veto
The Minneapolis City Council voted 7-5 Thursday to override Mayor Jacob Frey's veto of an ordinance that would have required a city license and a paid human safety monitor in driverless rideshare vehicles such as Waymo. Nine votes were needed, so the veto stands and the ordinance does not take effect. St. Paul's council, meanwhile, asked its planning commission to study possible rules for autonomous vehicles.
