Pope Leo returns to the Vatican four days after lung cancer surgery
Pope Leo XIV left Rome's Gemelli hospital and returned to the Vatican on Saturday, four days after surgeons removed the lower lobe of his right lung. Tests confirmed adenocarcinoma, the most common type of lung cancer. He said he was "much better." Doctors are still awaiting test results, including whether the cancer spread and whether more treatment is needed. He is set to lead the Angelus blessing on Sunday, and a Latin America trip is planned for mid-November.
