Metal object found in a Stevens County cornfield may be Chinese rocket debris
A bowl-shaped metal object about 11 feet across was found in a harvested cornfield southwest of Morris in Stevens County on October 14. The sheriff's office first said it appeared to be space debris. Ars Technica reported evidence points to a Chinese rocket; the rocket's owner has not confirmed that. A U.S. State Department spokesperson said the item has been secured and poses no danger to the public, and the department is working to determine its nature and origin.
