Supreme Court hears Boulder's climate case against oil companies Monday

On Monday, the first day of its new term, the Supreme Court hears arguments in a case brought by the city and county of Boulder, Colorado, against Suncor Energy and ExxonMobil. The case could decide whether state courts can hold energy companies liable for local climate damage. A decision is expected by summer 2027. The ruling could shape similar climate lawsuits across the country.
