Gulf system now likely to become a tropical depression this week
The National Hurricane Center overnight raised the chance that a system in the southwestern Gulf develops within 48 hours to 80 percent. Forecasters expect it to move east-northeast through midweek and then turn north. The NHC says it is too early to know specific impacts, but the northern Gulf Coast should monitor it. If it becomes a tropical storm, it would be named Isaias.
