Minnesota man charged in alleged ISIS-inspired plot against the Mall of America

Federal prosecutors in Minnesota charged an 18-year-old Twin Cities man with terrorism after they say he planned a mass shooting at the Mall of America in Bloomington in support of the Islamic State group. Court records unsealed Wednesday say he talked about killing as many as 60 people and obtained an AK-47 and ammunition. He was arrested Tuesday. The FBI says the investigation began in 2024. The charges are allegations; he has not been convicted.
