Russian strikes kill at least 20 across Ukraine
Russian missiles and drones struck Kyiv and about a dozen other regions overnight, killing at least 20 civilians, including four children, according to Ukrainian officials. The deadliest hit was on an apartment building in Pryluky, in the Chernihiv region. Totals vary slightly by source.

How each side sees it
Ukraine saysPresident Volodymyr Zelenskyy said energy infrastructure was a key target and that "the Russians wanted to strike painfully and demonstratively," and called for more air defense.
Russia saysRussia's Defense Ministry said it carried out a massive strike on military-industrial facilities that make and store missiles and drones, plus port and ship-repair sites in the Odesa region.
