Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called an early general election for Nov. 29 after opposition parties blocked his emergency housing measures, which aimed to curb evictions and real-estate speculation. Anger over housing costs has grown after a televised eviction of an elderly Madrid resident.
