Phone-company stocks sink after SpaceX spectrum deal

Shares of Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile fell sharply Friday after SpaceX agreed to buy a nationwide 800 MHz low-band spectrum portfolio expected to be used for a mobile service. The deal needs FCC approval. The broader market rose: the Dow gained about 423 points and the S&P 500 rose 0.59%.
