Hurricane Isaias makes landfall near Destin, Florida

Isaias, the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, made landfall Friday night near Destin, Florida, as a Category 2 storm, then weakened as it moved north through Alabama and was downgraded to a post-tropical cyclone. More than 726,000 customers in Florida and Alabama were without power early Saturday, the AP reports. Forecasters expect heavy rain and flooding across much of the Southeast this weekend, then parts of the Midwest and Northeast into Monday. No deaths had been reported in the sources reviewed.
