Trump announces a deal to buy Russian diesel
After a phone call with Vladimir Putin, President Trump said Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel, then 500,000 tons in November and more after that. The Treasury Department issued a temporary license letting Russian diesel be sold on the global market. The AP calls it a sharp reversal of years of U.S. pressure on Moscow, a month after Trump signed a sweeping Russia sanctions law. The national average for diesel is $6.28 a gallon, according to AAA.
