Two Iranian men charged over an alleged plot against Manchester's Jewish community

British counter-terrorism police charged Salam Ahmadyan, 36, and Rahman Salehi, 34, both Iranian nationals, with preparing terrorist acts. Police allege they planned to target the Jewish community in the Manchester area ahead of Yom Kippur and say the men were in contact with an overseas third party who may be in Iran. Police say there is no ongoing threat to the public. The men are due at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday. The charges have not been tested in court.
